Games Played
The games played marker is often an indication of how solid and consistent a player is in the NHL, and the longer you play and the more games you rack up, the more opportunities to solidify yourself in the history of the game. There's one Flame close to history this season, but that doesn't mean others won't be ticking off games played milestones too, so let's take a look at some of them ahead of an 84-game campaign.
Jonathan Huberdeau
While Jonathan Huberdeau has been highly criticized since coming to Calgary, he continues to give it his all on the ice, and after season ending surgery in 2025/26, the hope is that he can get back to 100% for the season ahead. If that's the case, he's likely to achieve a very respectable feat, as he is just 38 games away from 1,000 played between the Flames and the Florida Panthers, and while he may never live up to the contract, he's going to continue giving 100% for the Flames.
Matt Coronato
Matt Coronato represents a key piece of the Flames future, and when the rebuild is done, he'll likely be a second or third line winger capable of scoring 30 goals and being a consistent piece for years to come. While he was good in 2025/26, there's a lot more positives to come for the 23-year-old, and in 2026/27, he could pass several milestones, as he's currently at 192 games, putting him just 58 away from 250 and setting him up for a long, successful career in Calgary.
Yegor Sharangovich
Yegor Sharangovich's career in Calgary has been up and down, but after a red-hot start in his first year with the team when he scored a career high 31 goals, it's mostly been disappointing for the Flames. However, he's appeared in 70+ games in all three seasons with the team, and if he can achieve that feat again, Sharangovich will hit the 500 career game mark, as he's currently just 62 games away from that tally, and if given the chance, 2026/27 could be a bounce back campaign.
Martin Pospisil
Due to injuries, Martin Pospisil has been in and out of the Calgary Flames lineup through the early parts of his career, but when he's on the ice, the Flames are a better team, as he has a +13 differential in his three seasons with the team. Last year, he managed to appear in just 22 games, and if he can stretch that out to 34 games this season, he'll hit the 200 game mark, and if he can play in all 84 games, he would hit the 250 mark.
Zach Whitecloud
Zach Whitecloud just arrived in Calgary last season, but already he made an impact both on and off the ice, and if he isn't traded ahead of the 2026/27 season, he'll play a big role on the Flames but line next year. Like others, Whitecloud has the opportunity to hit several milestones, as he currently sits at 399 games played, and if he plays in 51 or more games (which he should if he remains in Calgary), he'll hit 400 and then 450 games played.
Joel Farabee
Joel Farabee has the chance to cross many major milestones this season, and like Whitecloud, he could cross several games played markers, as he's currently at 497 games, meaning he could surpass 550 and close in on 600 games played ahead of the 2027/28 campaign. As the team head into a rebuild, Farabee could play a key role on this team, and this season, he'll have plenty to celebrate if he can hit every milestone on this list.
Morgan Frost
Morgan Frost has a bright future in the NHL, and while that may or may not be with Calgary, it appears as though the organization are happy to head into the 2026/27 season with him un-signed going into the future. At 392 games, Frost too has the opportunity to hit 400 and 450 games played, and if his play continues the way it ended in 2025/26, there's no doubting the Flames may have a good future piece on their hands.
