As of right now, the Flames should not be aggressively pursuing anyone in free agency, but with their own list of free agents, there are several young names that could be pieces of the future of this franchise. Among those are Rory Kerins, Brennan Othmann, William Stromgren, Sam Morton, Carter King and Owen Say, all of whom should be re-signed to the AHL squad as they provide fantastic depth and opportunities for the future. On top of that, Clark Bishop has likely reached the peak of his career, and given that he's the current captain down with the Wranglers, if he wants to remain, he's the perfect fit as a veteran leader for this young group.

As for their unrestricted free agency, this team has replaced many of those UFA's with their youth movement, with the likes of Matvei Gridin, Zayne Parekh, Aydar Suniev and Hunter Brzustewicz staking a claim for the positions that these UFA's covet. As a result, there are likely only one or two players the team should re-sign, with Ivan Prosvetov potentially making sense as AHL depth in net, as well as Ryan Lomberg making sense as a veteran presence in the Flames forward group.

The Flames will head into the off-season with $18 million in salary cap space, so while they aren't going to spend big, this is a team that need to make some small moves, but from this group of experienced NHLers hitting free agency, don't be surprised if they don't bring back anyone.
