LW Joe Iginla

Joe Iginla was regarded as a major reach by most Flames fans in the 2026 NHL Draft, but given his lineage and his fathers importance to the city of Calgary, most overlooked that and were excited to see another Iginla in Calgary.

Those criticisms slowed down immensely across development camp, as Iginla showed flashes of physical traits and a shot that stood out among fellow draft picks, and after battling through injuries these past few years, he appears healthy for the first time in a while. He will take that health back to the Vancouver Giants of the WHL after he arrived mid-season and posted 4 goals and 10 points in 22 games played, and with a whole off-season to work, he could be a breakout star for the Giants in 2026/27.

LW Chase Harrington

Chase Harrington was a surprise pick of the Flames in round two of the 2026 NHL Draft, and while the selection drew plenty of criticism, he went a long way to winning over Flames fans at the recent development camp. Known for his size (6-foot-1, 195 pounds) and his physical play, Harrington also has a fantastic shot, and if he can develop that over the next two years, he's a player that could imapct the game in the middle-six at the NHL level.

This year however, the 18-year-old will continue his play in the WHL, as he will enter his fourth season with the Spokane Chiefs on the back of 28 goals and 57 points in 61 games played with the team a year ago.
