Who is Most Likely to be Claimed on the Calgary Flames?

Given the Flames lack of star power at the NHL level, there's one obvious candidate from the Flames to be selected in an expansion draft, and that's Devin Cooley, who posted career highs of a 2.69 GAA and a .909 save percentage in 2025/26.
Beyond Cooley, veterans like Jake Middleton, Yegor Sharangovich and Ryan Strome could all be of interest to rival teams, with Yan Kuznetsov an intriguing possibility as well. Ultimately though, an expansion draft now would be to the benefit of the Flames, as they would be automatically protected from losing many of their key pieces, with the most likely outcome in a potential draft seeing them lose Cooley.
