Penalty Minutes/Hits: Adam Klapka
Last season, Adam Klapka once again showed that when he's focused, he's capable of being one of the best fourth-line players in the NHL, as he was among the more noticeable Flames when he was at his best.
When moving up the lineup, Klapka's mentality clearly shifts, and as a result, his effectiveness dips significantly, but on the fourth line, Klapka embodies chaos with the entirety of his 6-foot-8 frame. Last year, Klapka led the Flames in both penalty minutes and hits, and given how effective he is when playing this role, the Flames are going to let him loose again in 2026/27, and while it may not result in much team success, it's a net positive for the future of the organization.
Wins: Dustin Wolf
For years now, Dustin Wolf has been seen as the future of the Calgary Flames, and in 2024/25, he showed exactly why as he broke out in his first season as a true starter with the team. Last season, he may have taken a step back, with Devin Cooley stepping up and starring for the Flames too, but clearly, the future success of this organization is all about No. 32.
With the season expanding to 84 games, it's likely that Wolf plays anywhere between 50 and 60 games next season, so while that may not lead to the best save percentage/GAA of his career given the defense in front of him, it's clear he'll lead the team in wins.
Given how bad the team is going to be overall, the win total is going to be by far the lowest of Wolf's career, but if he can show promise again in 2026/27, with the arrival of the youth, things could start improving in Calgary in the years to come.
