Goals: Matt Coronato
Last season, it was Matt Coronato that led the Flames in scoring, but after a 24 goal campaign in 2024/25, he actually ranked fourth on the team in goals, tallying just 18 across 80 games played. However, he was up and down the Flames lineup throughout the year, but down the stretch, he was on a line with Matvei Gridin and Morgan Frost, and with significant PP1 time, he's got a good chance to finally net 30 goals in a season.
For several years now, fans have noted that Coronato has one of the best shots on the Flames roster, but given his lack of puck luck a year ago, if he stays healthy, this year could be a very successful season for him.
While there's a chance Coronato could be among the Flames top point scorers again, putting the puck in the net is his biggest strength, and with the youth being prioritized this year, it's his opportunity to finally live up to his lofty expectations.
Points: Matvei Gridin
Down the stretch last year, Matvei Gridin was one of, if not the Calgary Flames best player, and when he found his combination with Frost/Coronato, that trio excelled, showing that this team is capable of productive offense.
While the overall season numbers don't look immense, after the trade deadline, Gridin scored at a 53-point pace over a full campaign, and given what the experience from 2025/26 will do to improve him as a player, he should be the one player that Flames fans look to take a huge leap this season.
Ultimately, if Gridin can pick up where he left off and even get better, he's the easy favourite to lead the team in points, and with more youth arriving, he should see this season as his opportunity to cement himself as a permanent top-line winger for years to come in Calgary.
