Zayne Parekh

Early in 2026/27, some fans have been disappointed with the lack of production from Zayne Parekh, but for the most part, it's due to no fault of his own. Sure, there has been and will continue to be growing pains, but around him, the team lack major finishers, and that's cost him several assists.
On Sunday, he finally got a teammate to finish off a beauty, with his pass on the powerplay to Morgan Frost for the Flames second goal making headlines around the NHL on a quiet night of action.

Parekh looked electric on the powerplay all night long, ringing a shot off the post and setting up several key chances, and as this teams chemistry grows, expect Zayne's production to continue improving as the year goes on.
Matvei Gridin
Matvei Gridin was expected by many to lead the Flames in scoring this year after a fantastic 2025/26 campaign, and while he's started slow, he had arguably his best game of the campaign on Sunday night.
That was capped off with his first goal of the season, taking a feed from Coronato to finish bar down, getting the Flames on the board with their first of the night as he showed the finishing potential he flashed last season.

After the win over Carolina, Gridin has 3 points over his first 8 games of the year, but after finding rhythm on his line with Ryan Strome and Martin Pospisil, this finish could be a sign of things to come.
