It’s been said recently that there is a buzz about the potential availability of Mike Cammalleri. The Ottawa Sun reports that the LA Kings, Vancouver Canucks, and Detroit Red Wings may be interested in acquiring Cammalleri. Nothing has been confirmed by the Flames organization, but I’m sure things will happen soon if he will be moved because the trade deadline ends on March 5th. What do you think about the potential interest in Cammy? If he leaves, where will he go?

Elliotte Friedman mentioned on twitter that he expects Matt Stajan to sign a new contract soon. According to CapGeek.com, Stajan sits at 3.5 million dollars and is about to become an unrestricted free agent during the off-season. If Stajan signs, what do you think will be his terms? Will it be a ridiculous amount of money for too many years as is the trend right now?

Tonight, the Flames take on the San Jose Sharks. So far this season, the Sharks have won two of the five match-ups. They sit in second place in the Pacific Division with 68 points while the Flames trail in sixth position with 39 points. With Joe Pavelski in the Sharks line-up tonight, the Flames will have a hard time defending against one of the top goal scorers in the league.

The Flames injury list includes Mike Cammalleri, Curtis Glencross, David Jones, and Kris Russell, but Russell has been said to be close to returning.

It will be a tough win, but the Flames have never been the type of team to throw in the proverbial towel. My prediction is that the Flames will play strong because a few of the team members have had a good rest since being ejected from the last game.

Go Flames Go!

*UPDATE: David Jones and Kris Russell will be in the line-up tonight with the Calgary Flames.
