Good morning Calgary Flames fans! It’s another day in Calgary, but unfortunately, we don’t have a win to cheer about. Let’s take a look at Flames news.

The Calgary Flames win-streak officially came to an end last night in the loss to the Boston Bruins. It was at 10 games and they were close to beating a record held by the Atlanta Flames with the longest win-streak, with 10 games. Unfortunately, they were completely outplayed and they were no match for the big bad bears.

Via Calgary Herald:

“I’m not going to stand here and throw my guys under the bus because they won 10 in a row and lost one at home,” said Flames head coach Glen Gulutzan. “Boston was better than us. Boston was dialled in.“We just didn’t have enough to take on another good team. It is disappointing. But at the same time, you’re not going to win every game. We understand that. It’s going to be how we react coming back.”

For more post-game fun (not so much fun), go here.

However, with this 10-game win streak, it gave some hope to the fans. After a rough start to the season, head coach Glen Gulutzan stuck with his plan. And he gave a lot of credit to the players for being patient with him and sticking with that plan as well.

“We’ve joked about that, Glen and I,” says the Flames general manager. “Remember the part in the movie [A Beautiful Mind] when he’s written all that stuff on the board?“That was us. Glen’s written all this different stuff on the board.“It looked Greek. Or Latin.“You’re sitting there, staring at the board, saying to yourself: ‘The answer’s in there somewhere. We may not see it right now but it’s in there … somewhere.’“So you study the numbers, study the numbers …“Then – bam! – all of a sudden the numbers make sense.”
