Good morning Calgary Flames fans! It’s a slightly chilly morning here in Calgary. Let’s take a look at some news surrounding the Flames.
The Calgary Flames will go into their weekend playing against the Dallas Stars. As we’re all sadly aware, their win-streak ended at 10 games in their loss to the Boston Bruins two nights ago. But it’s alright, it’s a new day and a new game. And Brian Elliott is potentially starting in net so… that’s some good news.
These two teams have already met twice this year where they each won one game. The Stars are coming off of a win they played last night against the Vancouver Canucks, so let’s all cross our fingers that they’ll be tired tonight.
Someone who won’t be tired and is excited to get back in it is Flames captain Mark Giordano. Gio missed the last three times the Flames playoffs. In 2014-2015 because of an injury, in 2008-2009, also because of an injury, and in 2007-2008 because he was playing in Russia.

"“In Calgary, it’s just such a great atmosphere, right?” Giordano said. “You need to get back in, to be honest, and just experience that again. I’ve been around a few times hurt, and the atmosphere is the same, if not better now.“I just remember being on the ice (in 2007) and you almost get the jitters at the start of games because of the atmosphere.”“As you get older, you realize how hard it is to get in, and you only have so many cracks left,” Giordano said. “Guys like me and Staj (Matt Stajan), I think we get it more. As a young guy, you’re coming in and just trying to prove yourself. But you play now to get into the playoffs and win. That’s the goal. That’s where our mindset is as a team and me as an individual.”"
