It’s another sad day for Calgary Flames fans. After being placed on waivers yesterday, Jaromir Jagr has cleared and will most likely be loaned to Kladno.

Yesterday morning, the Calgary Flames placed Jaromir Jagr on waivers, which was a sad day for Flames fans everywhere (for the most part). I mean, at least we had the All-Star games to distract us. But supposedly, this was a mutual decision between the Flames and Jagr.

Rumour also has it that he will be heading to Europe to play for Kladno, a team his dad is the president of and in which Jagr himself is a part-owner. However, since he cleared waivers, the Flames would technically be “loaning” Jagr to Kladno. Meaning that if the Flames were to make the playoffs, they could get him back.

It may not be goodbye for now, maybe a “see you later”. Except with the Flames on a four-game losing streak, who knows what will happen. A week ago, we all thought the Flames were for sure making the playoffs. But it’s quite iffy right now.

Because of Jagr clearing waivers, the Flames also recalled Andrew Mangiapane and Ryan Lomberg from the AHL. They sent them back down since it was the All-Star break. It also looks like Marek Hrivik isn’t getting a call-up. With those two getting the call, the Flames have a 22-man roster. Meaning Michael Frolik is expected to be reactivated from IR soon and they won’t have to send anybody down/put someone on waivers to do so.

Every team in the NHL gets a day off today for the post-All-Star break. The Calgary Flames will return to action tomorrow night vs. one of the best teams in the league this season – the Vegas Golden Knights (That’s a sentence I never thought I’d be saying this season). However, they have lost four of their last seven games.

The Flames, while on a four-game losing streak, are also on an 11-game point streak. So, that’s not the worst thing in the world. It’s the little things.
