Calgary Flames Daily: Tough loss, Jagr signs with Kladno
After a tough Calgary Flames loss last night, everybody’s still a little confused about what happened. Let’s check out some other Flames news.
It’s been a rough couple of weeks for the Calgary Flames. They had a seven-game win streak then the bye-week came at the absolute worst time. Since coming back from bye-week, they’re on a five-game losing streak. Heading into last night’s game vs. the Vegas Golden Knights, while they were on a four-game losing streak, they were still on an 11-game point streak.
So what went wrong last night?
Literally, nobody knows. Everything was fine, then the last two minutes came, and everything fell apart. With a little over a minute left in the game, while the Flames were up by one goal, Michael Frolik tried passing back to TJ Brodie, but it went by him, went somewhat hard to Mike Smith where Smith wasn’t quite prepared, bounced off him, and Vegas got the rebound. The Flames somewhat crumbled because Vegas scored again ten seconds later.

Via Calgary Sun:
“I, a little bit, I guess, panicked,” Frolik told a circle of reporters after the gut-wrenching loss. “I just saw (TJ Brodie) there and just try to pass it to him, but I passed it to his backhand and I think he kind of let it go, and you guys saw what happened.“It’s an awful play. At this time of the game, you probably just want to turn and get it out . . . It’s my fault.”
You could tell Frolik felt very upset and quite disappointed after last night’s game. It was his first game back in about a month since he had a jaw injury and missed 12 games.
On another side of news, after Jaromir Jagr cleared waivers and was assigned to Kladno, it’s been reported that he’s signed with the team this morning. We don’t know the specifics yet, but he is a part-owner and his dad is the president of the club, so I’m sure it’s a deal he likes.
