Three of the four members of the Calgary Flames were in action today at the World Championship. Let’s see how they each fared.

It was a good day for the three members of the Calgary Flames playing at the World Championship today. Johnny Gaudreau for Team USA, Mikael Backlund captaining Team Sweden, and Bill Peters leading Team Canada were all in action today and all had great results. Let’s check out the games.

Team Canada vs Team Denmark

Bill Peters led his Canadian squad to another dominating victory. With a 7-1 win over Team Denmark, they now sit in second place in Group B with seven points in three games. While the Canadians didn’t completely outplay the Danes, they still put up 32 shots and allowed just 17 shots against.

They play next on Thursday when they face Norway.

Team USA vs Team Germany

The Americans had another shutout performance, winning 3-0 against Team Germany. Johnny Gaudreau showed up on the scoresheet for the third straight game with a nice feed over to his linemate on the powerplay to give him another assist. He now has one goal and two assists in three games at the tournament.

Team Sweden vs Team France

Sweden had their third straight regulation win and Mikael Backlund picked up his first goal! A nice five-hole goal on the powerplay to give Sweden the 2-0 lead in the first period. In fact, France, in general, had a hard time staying out of the penalty box tonight and Sweden took advantage and won the game 4-0.
