We’ve got another Calgary Flames prospect update! This time, it’s on centerman Glenn Gawdin, who’s had quite the glorious season.

What a year it’s been for Calgary Flames prospect Glenn Gawdin. The centerman played in his fifth and final season with the Swift Current Broncos of the WHL and what an outstanding season he’s had. As captain of the Broncos for the second year, he had a big jump in his production.

Originally drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the fourth-round in 2015, the Flames signed Gawdin to a three-year ELC in November. And he’s definitely been proving that signing right.

This year with the Broncos, he finished the regular season with 56 goals and 125 points in 67 games. He finished second among all skaters in the WHL in points and his 32 points in 24 playoff games led the Broncos to the WHL championship. Unfortunately, they lost during the Memorial Cup championship, which Gawdin had three points in three games. But he was still named the WHL Playoffs MVP, which is a great way to end off his junior-level career.

Once his season ended, we learned that Gawdin had a separated shoulder throughout the playoffs. And he STILL put up 32 points in those 24 games and won MVP. I don’t generally condone playing through injuries, but that’s lots of heart and talent.

Gawdin had an incredible year and a massive jump compared to his previous years. He more than doubled his point-total from the last two seasons in just 15 games more.

Gawdin will most likely play with the Stockton Heat this upcoming season since he’s no longer eligible for the junior-level. With Dillon Dube also most likely joining Stockton and Mark Jankowski now with the Flames, they may both be fighting for that top center position with the Heat.

It’ll be a fun year for them both.
