Two Selections
Maddox Dagenais
Positional need is going to be key for the Flames when they take the podium at the 2026 NHL Draft, and if they don't adress centre with the No. 6 overall pick, this will give them the opportunity to do so. While there may be others available, Maddox Dagenais fits everything the Flames could want at the position, with the Quebec native having very high upside.
The 6-foot-4 left-shot centre has the size and skill to compete at the next level, and after a point-per-game campaign for the Quebec Remparts in 2025/26, he's improving at a high level in the QMJHL. The upside is there, and while his development would be much slower than a player like Viggo Bjorck early in the first-round if that's the way the Flames want to play things, given the patience that they'll be able to have going through their rebuild, Dagenais would be a home-run pick at No. 30/31 overall.
