The Calgary Flames were locked into the No. 6 pick following the 2026 NHL Draft lottery, but it wasn't until this week that they would learn the fate of their second first-round pick at the draft. With the Vegas Golden Knights defeat in the Stanley Cup Final, the Flames will now pick at No. 30, giving them two chances to land a potential superstar in the first round of the NHL Draft.
This is one of the deeper draft classes in recent NHL memory, and while the Flames may look to move up in the draft, if they stay put, there should be some very talented players to take a chance on.
In 2025, the Flames landed Cullen Potter at the No. 32 overall pick, so there's clearly going to be great talent available, and ahead of the 2026 NHL Draft, we'll now take a look back at the last five drafts to see the players picked at No. 30 overall.
