The Calgary Flames are currently 5-7-0 on the season, and while many expected them to be battling for 32nd overall in the NHL standings, in recent times they've shown plenty of promise in what was supposed to be a rebuilding year.
Currently, their recent success has them sitting 28th in the league, tied with 30th overall on points, but given that their promise has been driven by the youth, it's an exciting stretch for the future of the organization.
Unfortunately, they came crashing back to earth on Wednesday, suffering two injuries in the process, and ahead of their matchup with the Seattle Kraken, they've announced the official changes to the lineup.
Calgary Flames Forced to Make Two Lineup Changes

In the 4-0 loss to the Edmonton Oilers, the Flames lost both Brennan Othmann and Devin Cooley, and as a result, they recalled two players from the Calgary Wranglers ahead of Friday's battle with the Kraken.
As expected though, neither will be in the lineup against Seattle, as Flames reporter Pat Steinberg has noted that Maxim Tsyplakov will take back his place on the fourth line, while Dustin Wolf gets his first start since October 15th against the Vegas Golden Knights.
Looks like Max Tsyplakov back in the lineup tonight vs. Seattle. Has sat out the last five games.

William Stromgren and Joel Hanley on the ice late after an optimal morning skate. They’ll be healthy scratches tonight.

As a result, both Joel Hanley and William Stromgren will be healthy scratches, with the Flames looking to get back to their winning ways with the likes of Matvei Gridin, Zayne Parekh and Aydar Suniev all finding career best form early in the season.
They will take on a Seattle Kraken team that is 4-2-1 away from home this season while sitting third in the Pacific Division, and after they decimated the Flames 6-1 on home ice to start the 2026/27 season, the team will look to get their revenge on a division rival.
