The Calgary Flames already hold the No. 6 overall pick in the NHL Draft, and with the opportunity to likely land a player such as Keaton Verhoeff, Carson Carels or Viggo Bjorck, they'll be adding another elite level prospect to the organization.

Beyond that pick, the team have a second first-round pick, four picks in the second-round and two picks in the third-round, giving them eight draft picks in the first 68 selections ahead of the 2026 NHL Draft. While that's an opportunity for them to add many talented prospects, giving them chances to take big time swings, but it also allows them the chance to move up in the draft.

That's led to speculation that the team could use these assets to get back into the lottery, and now, a potential opportunity has presented itself with the No. 8 overall pick and the Winnipeg Jets. According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, the Jets are open to moving that selection, with the team seeking help on their second line.

That could open up an opportunity for the Flames, as they could get to No. 8 overall to make two elite selections, potentially adding an elite forward like Bjorck while also picking up a long-term LHD like Carels if they're both available. But what would it cost for the Flames to get up to No. 8 if the Jets are taking calls on the pick?
