Available Assets the Flames Could Trade For No. 8

Thankfully, the Flames have several assets that they could use in a trade, and given the Jets desire to add to the second-line, they could use multiple players to tempt Winnipeg into a deal.

Morgan Frost

Morgan Frost is a player that the Flames could look to extend this summer, and while he's certainly a valuable piece that could be in Calgary for a long time to come, if he could instead be used to land another lottery pick, it's a no-brainer for the Flames.

This past season, we saw the best of Frost when given an opportunity, as over the final 21 games of the year following the trade deadline, he posted 9 goals and 14 points, showing what he can do as a focal point of a lineup. Sure, he doesn't have the ceiling of a No. 1 centre, but the Jets already have Mark Scheifele, and in Frost, the team could have a player that fills out their top-two centres for a long, long time to come.

Blake Coleman

The likelihood that Blake Coleman is traded this summer is very, very high, and while most expect him to go to a team like Dallas, Florida, Tampa Bay or New Jersey, the chance to chase a Stanley Cup with the Jets could be tempting as well.

In Coleman, the team could get a two-way winger that can play anywhere in the lineup in all situations, and after point totals of 38, 54, 39 and 34 over the past four seasons, he could be very valuable for Winnipeg. With just one-year remaining on his current deal, there's a chance he may not be as valuable compared to moving him with two-years left, but if the Jets do want to fill out their second-line, Coleman and Frost would be a great pairing.
