Vegas Golden Knights pick
The Vegas Golden Knights are in the Stanley Cup Finals, so in the 2026 NHL Draft, they'll now be picking either No. 30 or 31 overall, but most believe they will use this pick to trade up and add another elite level prospect.
While the Jets would no doubt love to add a high level prospect, using this pick to supplement a deal that involves Coleman, Frost or both would still allow them a chance to draft in the first-round while adding experienced players to help them in 2026/27.
Several second-round picks
In a deal for Mackenzie Weegar, the Flames added three second-round picks in 2026, and with one of their own, they now have four picks to work with, including No. 35, 36, 51 and 55 overall, and while most wouldn't want to use significant draft capital to move up, you need to sacrifice to get back into the lottery.
If the team don't make a deal, the Flames have four opportunities to add a potential future NHLer following picks of Theo Stockselius and Andrew Basha over the last two years, and given how deep this draft is, the Jets would no doubt be interested in one or two of these picks in a potential deal.
Obviously, the Flames aren't going to send all these assets the Jets way in a deal for the No. 8 overall pick, but a combination of some of them may make the 2026 NHL Draft a very impactful one as the Flames look to continue a very good start to their rebuild if Winnipeg are truly looking to move the pick.
