5. Joel Hanley

Joel Hanley was a player that many fans expected to be traded at the deadline or even last summer, but as of right now, the 34-year-old remains with the Calgary Flames. Last year, Hanley was solid in his role as a bottom pair defenseman on the left side, posting 7 assists in 68 games before his season came to an end due to injury.
As a result, the team saw the debut of former North Dakota blue liner Abram Wiebe, and with Axel Hurtig signing his Entry Level Contract recently, the left side of the Flames defense has some very bright spots for the future. As a result of this and Hanley's lack of production, it makes sense for the team to keep Brayden Pachal as the seventh defenseman in order to move Hanley for a late-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft.
Prediction: The Flames move Joel Hanley this off-season for a late-round draft pick.
