Good morning Calgary Flames fans! It’s another warm-ish day in Calgary. You know the drill, let’s take a look at news surrounding the Flames.

It’s game day for the Calgary Flames! They’ll be taking on the Philadelphia Flyers tonight and will be playing 10 of their next 16 games against Eastern teams. Johnny Gaudreau has at least one point in his four games against the Flyers and is averaging 1.5 points/gp against them. So hopeful for that kid tonight.

On to things every fan in the league is waiting for: trade deadline. I mean, except Flames fans. Since nobody really knows what’s going on because Flames GM Brad Treliving never gives a straight answer.

Treliving has already said that these next few weeks will determine if any trades are happening. Now he’s also saying he’s waiting for a cue from the players.

Via Calgary Herald:

"“You’re always staying in touch with everyone and getting a sense of where everybody is at and what they’re looking for or potentially could be doing, so you have a pretty good sense of what is going on out there,” Treliving said of his approach as the March 1 trade deadline nears. “But we’re probably like a lot of teams — you take your cue from your team. So you continue to watch and monitor and watch the games and go from there.”"

Head coach Glen Gulutzan also had some comments on the matter:

"“I think that about our team. I think it’s like turning on your garden hose in the spring. It’s going to fire out some air and then water and then air, then it’ll start flowing. That’s what I think about our group. I think we’re coming.”"

Is that a sly hint and indication that there are no trades happening? Thanks Gulutzan. I got more from that than I’ve gotten from Treliving.
