Blake Coleman signed with the Calgary Flames in the summer of 2021, and after two Stanley Cup victories under his belt at the time, joining a group led by Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuk who had eyes on post-season success of their own.
Unfortunately, things didn't play out as expected, and after a loss in the Battle of Alberta in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the rest of the core moved on, with things changing significantly ever since Coleman's arrival. Now entering the final year of his five-year contract, Coleman is a major trade asset for the Flames, with NHL Insider Frank Seravalli naming him as the seventh best trade piece heading into the off-season.
There's no concensus right now on when the Flames should deal Coleman, but before the trade deadline, it's likely that GM Craig Conroy will look to move the final year of the 34-year-old's deal, and now, we'll look into five potential landing spots for the veteran winger.
